The Pattern of the True Believer

Matthew West wrote a song which asks, “So what’s your story about His glory? What evidence of God’s Grace do others see in your face?” When others look at you, do they know that at some point in your life you made a decision to follow Jesus? Do they see evidence in your life of your belief in His Word? The Bible is full of “patterns” that teach us how to shine for Jesus so the “evidence of God’s Grace is seen on our face.” With this message Jo shows Christians how to live in this world as shinning examples of Christ.

(45 minutes or up to 4-35 minute presentations)

Pattern #1:  Unity.  The Devil knows that if he can get “Christians” to divide by quarrelling with each other—he can ruin their “story” and cover “the evidence of God’s grace on their face.”

Pattern #2:  Love.  When we think about what Jesus, God the Son did for us, we are compelled to follow the pattern of love which produces unity. 

Pattern #3:  Confession and Forgiveness.  We cannot shine brightly for Jesus if we have sins in our life that block our light.  In this session Jo gives an opportunity for confession and receiving forgiveness.

Pattern # 4:  Prayer.  When we take time to speak to our Awesome, Powerful, Loving, Caring, Compassionate God we will be like Moses after his visits with God.  People will look at us and see the “evidence of God’s Grace in our face.” This message is a good retreat for leaders (or any Christian) to renew their commitment to God.
